Texting & Driving Fines (truck driver reference)

Distracted driving is six times more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk, and 1 in every 4 accidents was caused due to texting. Teens are more likely to be involved in a fatal accident than adults because they are also more likely to be on their phone. Accidents caused by truck drivers on their phones accounts for 15% of all traffic accidents in the United States. Distracted driving, aka cell phone usage while behind the wheel, has become such a prevalent issue that all states have had to pass laws discouraging the use of phones, and encouraging safer driving.
